An Estate/Tag Sale has been scheduled to take place at the Ronkonkoma Cenacle, 310 Cenacle Road., Ronkonkoma November 21, 22 and 23 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Articles to be sold include antiques, furniture, religious articles, TV’s, glassware, dishes, pictures and much more.  This will be the only opportunity to participate in this sale and to purchase Cenacle memorabilia.  For more information and directions call Linda (631) 588-8366.

Retired Teachers Needed:  The Opening Word, a literacy program for low-income, under-educated women, needs the help of retired primary, elementary and high school teachers with its English as a second language (ESOL) students at Miraculous Medal parish in Wyandanch.  Volunteers, in conjunction with the teacher, assist the women in learning conversation English.  The upper level students work on developing ready and writing skills.  Classes take place from Monday through Friday.  Volunteers are needed from 9:00 am to 11:45 am.  If you are interested in helping, please cal Sister Judy Flanagan or Sister Fran Gorman (631) 920-0916.

Chinese Auction hosted by Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Victory 595 on November 21, 2008 at 6:30 pm, at St. Patrick Parish School Gym, Montauk Highway, Bay shore.  Admission is $5.00.  Join us for an evening of fun and prizes.

An evening forum for those in their 20’s & 30’s with straight talk and honest answers to questions of faith and morals. Young Adult Weekend Retreat – Following in the Footsteps of Paul

Ecumenical Service for Peace and Remembrance

Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church Wyandanch on Sunday, November 16 at 7:00 pm

We gather to commemorate the nineteenth anniversary of the assassination of the six Jesuit Priests and their co-workers in El Salvador.  We join in faith and solidarity in their honor and in honor of the four American churchwomen, Archbishop Romero and all others martyred for the witness and work for the cause of peace.  As a community, each year we remember…not to weep for them, but to pray for the strength to imitate and continue their witness for peace.  Please join us this year!

Continuing the Marian Healing Ministry of Fr. Our Lady of the Rosary Squirettes of Mary invite Catholic Girls ages ten through eighteen to join us.  We are a Catholic Girls Youth Group.  We march in parades, assist at the Knights of Columbus functions, raise money for charity, attend field trips, dances, bowling parties, ice skating parties, and more.  We participate at the May Crowning of Mary and the Communion Breakfast.  Service credits are available for students requiring community service for Confirmation and college applications.  Please contact Annemarie D’Attoma at 586-8551 or Susie Jones at 274-3278.

A Christmas Concert with Michael Amante

2009 Respect Life Contest

The Diocesan Office of Respect Life is pleased to announce the 2009 Respect Life Youth Contest. This year's theme is "We Are Wonderfully Made by God". All Catholic youngsters in grades 7-12 who live in the Rockville Centre Diocese are invited to participate in any of the following categories:

poetry - bookmark design – essay

music - photography

The contest gives our Catholic young women and men the opportunity to show through words, images, and song, expressed in a way that is in harmony with our faith, how dear the gift of life is to them. Winners will receive monetary awards in support of their future education.
